World Cup finals in Koper: home rhythm, global stage
If there is a city that understands climbing, it’s Koper. After packed stands and medals in past years, the World Cup returns to the Adriatic coast — and Saturday night is reserved for the Lead final under the floodlights. The organizers announce a festival atmosphere: programs at the stands, DJ sets, and an opening ceremony for the final right before the finalists come out.
Who’s coming, who defends the glory
Last autumn, Koper watched Janja Garnbret take gold among the women, while Toby Roberts sealed the season among the men — a benchmark that raises expectations again this year. Their 2024 triumphs in Koper remain the strongest reference heading into the new final.
Why Koper is a “yardstick” of form
The IFSC calendar positions Koper as a key Lead weekend: qualifications and semifinals on Friday, then the grand final on Saturday at 20:00. For the audience and brands, that means maximum visibility — the very top of the start list, the best route setters, and prime-time TV/streaming.
The Slovenian connection
Koper is also a symbol of Slovenian know-how in the climbing-wall industry. Citywall, a Slovenian manufacturer with more than two decades of experience, has built a reputation through projects across many countries and segments (gyms, entertainment formats, training).
Citymat: a line of professional landing mats (two-layer foam, reinforced carpets, durability and safety) — relevant for gyms that want a competition-level standard and a tidy look after heavy use.
Illusion and Infinity: brands of macro elements and holds within the Citywall portfolio, a recognizable choice for route-setting teams.
Note: the brands above are Slovenian and globally available; they are mentioned here as relevant industry brands from Slovenia.
