Streamlining meets dedication
As is the case with all modern-day manufacturing, your project’s journey begins at our inbox. Upon reception, our technicians will divide the digital sketch of your project into separate segments, in order to optimise the processing speed of our CNC machining centres. The surface of each segment does not exceed 150m2. The segments are then divided into groups, where one group consists of all panels in a segment that share a surface.
The next step is to make sure that the surface covered by colour matches the overall surface of the project. Each segment of each group is then digitally cut into separate panels, made to fit the dimensions of the plywood sheets, from which the panels will be cut. 3D rendering factors in the sheets’ thickness, and ensures that all corners are properly closed. A separate file is made for each panel, named using a code that tells of the project name, the number of the segment the panel belongs to, the panel’s colouring, the panel’s group and its number with the group. Drilling, cutting and milling simulations are run in order to ensure that the process runs smoothly once the actual plywood sheets are placed inside the CNC machine centre. The final step before proceeding to actual production is the printing of report papers, detailing the number of plywood sheets required, the number of panels that can fit on each sheet, along with the sketches detailing cuts and drill holes on each panel.
With digital preparation done, the finalised project files are sent to our CNC machine centre operators, who, upon reviewing the report paper, load the files into the CNC’s computer and start the cutting, drilling, or milling programme. Once out of the machine, each panel is marked with the code from its file, to ensure the accuracy of further finishing actions, such as smoothing and puttying, painting or varnishing, and eventual packaging. Each step in our panel processing includes the verification of the preceding one, thus minimising the possibility of error and the amount of rejects.
In our never-ending strive to optimise and streamline the production process and maximise efficiency, we remain aware that automation is just one piece of the puzzle of modern industry. Another key element are responsible and dedicated workers, the kind of workers our factory is proud to employ. Attentive to every detail, ever ready to learn and improve their know-how, as they adapt and contribute to constant innovations, our employees are the secret ingredient that gives our technology its competitive edge and makes Wood Plastix the finest brand in our line of work.
